KITCHEN / DINING ROOM

A few steps up from the front door is the stylish 'Clive Christian' kitchen / dining room, which opens to the outside dining area overlooking the formal gardens.

The newly renovated kitchen / dining room makes a fabulous hub for the castle. It is equipped with two ovens, large induction hob, microwave, dishwasher, American-style fridge/freezer with icemaker, a Nespresso coffee machine and a large walk-in pantry.

A separate laundry room, with washing machine, drying rack, sink and ironing facilities, is on the lower ground floor.

THE SALON

With its beautiful chandelier and original silk wall covering this is a glamorous place to unwind and revel in the glorious views and sunsets from the generous west facing windows.

A newly renovated antique ramshead-design sofa and chairs sit with a Louis 15th style suite which, coupled with the owners' furniture from their time in the Far East, create a pleasing fusion of Oriental and French styles.

Access is either from the Kitchen / Dining room or through the neighbouring study which links to the main staircase.

FAMILY ROOM

A few steps down from the kitchen / dining room, on the lower ground floor, this comfortable, relaxed space is ideal for watching TV (French and UK channels) and makes a great space for children to play.

Complete with a 17th Century fireplace and period flagstone floor, it is the oldest room in the château, originating in the remains of the medieval fort that preceded the current building.

CATHEDRAL LOUNGE

Situated fifty-five steps above the main entrance this enormous space in the roof is one of the wonders of the château, which used the same construction technique as when creating the keel of a boat. A similar example can be found in the Palace of Versailles!

Comfortable sofas and rugs make this atrium-like space an ideal chill-out zone.

Leading off it, on one side, is the Provence bedroom and to the other, up a short staircase, is a toilet / shower room and the Marie Antoinette bedroom.

G/Floor Shower

SHOWER ROOM and laundry

Situated on the ground floor adjacent to the side entrance, this spacious shower / cloakroom is convient for both the kitchen / dining room and is close to the pool.

The expansive shower enclosure offers sufficent space for attended showering of young children.
