Chesnel is the original medieval structure of the château and full of quirky, enchanting and unique features.

Chesnel's Master Suite is sumptuously furnished, as befits the main suite of the castle, with a four poster bed.

​

Comfortable sofas and rugs make this airy room, overlooking the grounds and neighbouring vineyard as well as the courtyard, the most sought after bedroom.

​

On the first floor, accessible from the main spiral staircase it is full of interesting features including rare 15th Century handmade floor tiles.

CATHEDRAL SUITE -

2 DOUBLE ROOMS

At the top of the 55 step spiral staircase, in Chesnel's cathedral-like roof space are two delightful rooms. Marie Antoinette and Provence are on either side of the lounge area and share a toilet / shower room.

MARIE ANTOINETTE -

Marie Antoinette is situated on the north side of the Cathedral lounge, on the upper second floor.

​

It has beautiful antique furniture including a king-sized bed, magnificent wardrobe and vanity table.

 

Featuring the rare 'upturned keel' roof structure it is the essence of French style.

 

It has wonderful views over both the east and west of the estate.

Provence

PROVENce -

​

​

Situated on the south side of the Cathedral lounge, Provence has south facing windows, shaded from the bright Aquitaine sunshine by the adjacent trees.

​

TOILET / SHOWER ROOM

Situated adjacent to bedroom 'Marie Antoinette', this twin sink facility also serves bedroom 'Provence' and is convenient for people using the Cathedral lounge in between.

AQUITAINE SUITE

1 DOUBLE / 2 SINGLE ROOMS

Dubbed the 'fairytale' suite because of its private spiral staircase which leads to a charming, three room suite, culminating with one bedroom at the top of the tower. At the north end of Chesnel, there is a stylish room, Nouvelle Aquitaine which has a super king size bed and en-suite wash/shower room. An adjacent single room, Chambre Des Fleurs and its delightful sister single room further up the staircase, the Tower room complete the suite.  All these rooms share a toilet on the Aquitaine landing, a shower is either available within Nouvelle Aquitaine or in the toilet/shower room on the ground floor.

NOUVELLE AQUITAINE -

Situated on the north western side of Chesnel and overlooking the grounds and adjacent vineyard, the evening sunsets viewed from this room are stunning.

​

Full of historic features and sumptuous furnishings it is a haven of rest and relaxation.

​

It benefits from an ensuite wash / shower room and shares the adjacent toilet with with 'Chambre Des Fleurs' and the 'Tower Room'.

This single room faces east overlooking the courtyard.

At the top of the tower, with splendid views across and over the courtyard to the surrounding countryside, this is well worth the extra climb!

​

It has a single four poster bed.
