Sadly, we are now selling Château de Meux owing to health difficulties. The sale consists of the main château with all it’s subsidiary accommodations and pool within the 2 acre grounds. We are prepared to consider including some of the furniture and fittings by separate negotiation.
Two of the smaller accommodations, Le Logis and La Treille (pictured and shown in site plan below), are subject to a Viager agreement which means that they are occupied by the previous owner for her lifetime and an annual fee is payable to her. These buildings are wholly owned by us as the proprietors but are not available for occupation until her death or earlier if she chooses to relinquish her right of occupation. The tenant has no right of access to any other part of the property.
The purchase price of the château (offers invited above 1,197,0,00€ including 5% agency fees) has been significantly reduced to make allowances for this situation. The previous owner is presently 93 years old. Should she die before a sale of the property, the discount included in price for the viager element will no longer apply.
